Mark + Olivia {wedding :: Huntsville, Ala.}

How did you two meet?

We met at the rock climbing gym at Auburn University. A couple days after we met, we went on a climbing trip with friends to Sand Rock, AL. During that trip we got to know each other better, and several dates after that, we started dating!

Do either of your remember what you thought the first time y'all saw/met each other?

Olivia: "I thought he was very handsome and polite. After hanging out with him for a while, I quickly had a crush on him, but I was about to graduate from Auburn and move to Knoxville in less than a month, so I didn’t think we would be able to more than friends…but thankfully, God had better plans!"

Mark: "Well, the first time I met her I didn’t even remember... but the first time I spent time with her we climbed with a group of friends, I was very impressed by how well she could climb!"

How and when did Mark propose?

Olivia: "On May 7, 2016, Mark and I took a trip to Foster Falls in Chattanooga, Tennessee to go hiking. After hiking for only five minutes, we were crossing a bridge and Mark stopped me and told me he had an important question to ask me. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was overwhelmed, excited and surprised, and with no doubt in my mind, said, 'yes!'"

Mark: "From the beginning of our relationship, we were focused on dating for marriage. Our prayer was that the Lord would lead our hearts and guide us to date as if we were preparing for marriage. After almost two years of dating long distance, I felt the Lord was guiding us together and that it was time for me to ask her the question. I chose a spot that we were both familiar with and a spot that was similar to where we first met. The spot was a rock climbing crag in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The weather was perfect, and I thought I could fool her. So we hiked down to the river crossing, and I asked her the question... she said 'YES!'"

Mark-- what's one thing you admire most about Olivia?

Mark: "One thing I admire about Olivia is that she is filled with the love and grace of Christ. Olivia is always one to encourage and point me to Christ. Olivia treats every person with whom she interacts with grace in her actions and her words."

Olivia-- what's one thing you admire most about Mark?

Olivia:" Mark continually gives me perspective in Christ, and I admire that his heart is grounded in Christ and he is continually aiming to seek Christ. Whenever I am overwhelmed and stressed by things of the world, he reminds me with grace of our purpose on this earth and of the promise of eternity with our Heavenly Father."

What was each of fall’s favorite part of the big day?

Olivia: "I loved every minute of that day! Once the ceremony started, the rest of the day became a blur because we were so overwhelmed and humbled by all of our friends and family being present to celebrate that day with us. Right before the ceremony, I had a time of prayer with my bridesmaids, and I will always cherish that quiet time that I got to spend with women I hold so close to my heart!"

Mark: "I really enjoyed spending time with my groomsmen. That morning we all went to a shooting range, and it was really great to spend time with my closest friends."

What’s next for you two?

Olivia: "We will be living in Huntsville, AL. Olivia will be starting her career as a PA with Decatur Orthopedic Clinic and Mark is working with Turner Construction. We can’t wait for the many adventures ahead of us!"

Robert + Morgan {wedding :: Birmingham, Ala.}

 How long have you two been together?

Morgan: "Two years now. We met in March 2015, shortly after I moved to Birmingham."

How and when did Robert propose?

Morgan: "Our families took a joint trip to the beach over Memorial Day weekend. We had already been ring shopping and had the discussed the possibility of getting engaged, but Robert wanted to keep me in the dark and make it a surprise. I had secretly been hoping to get engaged over the long weekend, so we could celebrate with both of our families. Robert slow-played it, and finally took me on a walk along the beach at sunset on the last night. I had no idea it was coming (neither did our families), so everyone was pleasantly surprised and we had a great celebration together that night!"

Robert- what's one of the things you admire most about Morgan?

Robert: "One of the many things I admire about Morgan is her sweet, friendly and outgoing personality. I'm pretty introverted by nature, and I'm always amazed how easily she makes friends, and how everyone seems to love her. She helps me to get out and meet people and be social, and maybe I help to keep her calm and grounded. We're great complements to each other."

Morgan- what's one of the things you admire most about Robert?

Morgan: "How can I pick just one? I admire so many things about Robs. He is kind, loving and gentle. His patience and calming spirit is the perfect balance to my stress and impatience. As the saying goes, he is 'the calm to my storm.' He's also very encouraging and uplifting-- I'm so lucky to be his wife."

What was each of yall's favorite part of the day?

Morgan: My favorite part, aside from seeing Robert during our "first look," was celebrating our special day with our closest friends and family. It was so special to us that so many traveled to Birmingham for this weekend that we've been dreaming about for so long.  Also, I loved seeing all of the little details come together. Kalee Baker has an amazing talent and her vision is what made this weekend an absolute dream. She was such a blessing.  I also loved hearing reports from Robert throughout the morning from Kalee as she would go back and forth-- it gave me chill bumps :)."

Robert: "My favorite part of the wedding was walking back down the aisle arm-in-arm with Morgan, then hopping on a trolley with all of our bridal party (and maybe some champagne) and heading to the reception. It just felt really amazing to say, 'I do' to my best friend and then head to the biggest party of my life with all of my friends and family."

What's next for you two?

Morgan: "We delayed our honeymoon a few weeks-- we're headed to Italy at the end of March and we couldn't be more excited to explore a new country together."

Parker + Sarah {engagement}

How did you two meet?

Sarah: "Parker and I grew up together, and we always ran around with the same friends. It wasn't until my last year of college that we started dating though!"

Do either of you remember what you thought when you first saw/met each other?

Sarah: "I actually had a crush on Parker in middle school, little did he know. When we were in college, we always seemed to pick each other out when I was cheering and he was in the stands."

How and when did Parker propose?

Sarah: "Parker proposed the day before Thanksgiving of 2016. We went out to the lake which has always been our special spot and watched the sunset on the dock. It was just the two of us and that is when he got down on one knee and proposed! Our families were both in town for the holiday, and we went back into town and had a big family dinner together!"

What are some things you two like to do together?

Sarah: "Parker and I love to be active! We love to be outdoors. Anything from shooting my first buck with him to ATV riding in Utah! We love any kind of outdoor adventure!"

Shoutout to The Sonnet House in Birmingham, Ala. for allowing us to shoot at their beautiful location!

Christopher + Lauren {engagement}

How did you two meet?

Lauren: "Christopher and I actually met by happenstance in pharmacy school. We both (rather unexpectedly) were elected to serve on the executive council of an organization at school. I was president, and he was the vice president, so he always jokes about how, 'I was his boss.' We ended up spending a lot of time communicating and planning for events and meetings within the organization, and I realized pretty quickly that he was someone that was crucial in order for me to be successful in my position within the organization. Christopher was always so supportive and kind when I was totally losing my cool! It wasn't until later on that I realized these qualities would roll over into my day-to-day life, and Christopher would become someone that was crucial to me being successful and happy in every aspect of my life, not just this position in this organization. The rest honestly is history, and I can't imagine who I'd be today without this same constant support and kindness that Christopher has always provided me!"

How and when did Christopher propose?

Lauren: "Christopher proposed on October 8, 2016. We had just come off a long string of busy Auburn home game weekends and were in need of a serious chill weekend. I thought I was being so genius by planning us a weekend at the lake to get some much needed R&R, but of course I didn't realize that I was totally biting the bait in a grand scheme that Christopher had already planned. Saturday morning, we decided to have our quiet time out on the dock, drink coffee, and watch the sunrise. I thought this was a great idea, and had no idea of the implications behind this decision we had made. Keep in mind, I totally thought I was in control of everything at this point-- I'd planned this weekend, I'd made these decisions, I was in control. NOT! So I mindlessly walked down to the dock, holding our bibles and coffee.. I sat down, reached over for my coffee, looked back over at Christopher, and realized there was a letter in my lap that read, 'Read out loud.' I had no idea how this had gotten here, but I guess I was going to read it now. I opened the letter and pretty immediately realized what it was. The tears started flowing. Christopher had laid out, by date, every big moment in our lives together. He had detailed our first date, our first trip together, when he knew he wanted to marry me. All of these moments that he had taken the time to make note of throughout the course of our relationship. I'm completely sobbing at this point, just in time to read about how about a month earlier he had told me he was napping on a Wednesday afternoon. However, instead of napping, Christopher had driven himself down to Montgomery to talk to my mom about wanting to marry me. He had then driven to Dothan and picked out the most perfect ring that he would be giving me on this day. This perfect letter ended with a simple phrase that has come to mean so much to both of us: 'Regardless of your answer to my next question, I love you today, I'll love you tomorrow, I'll love you forever.' After wiping my eyes, I looked up to realize Christopher was on one knee, asking me to marry him. I SAID YES!! I absolutely could not imagine a more perfect day."

What are some things y'all like to do together?

Christopher: "This question is pretty easy because we like to do just about anything. This may seem like a cliché answer, but due to us living two hours apart from each other it could not be more true. We really make it a point to be intentional with our time together and this is something we have done since the very beginning of our relationship. We put value in having our quiet times together when we are together (see engagement story!) and have been doing this since the start of us dating. We decided we were going to read the whole Bible in 2016 and this has been an amazing experience for the both of us, together and individually.

We also like to travel! We have been on some pretty awesome trips over the past year to places like Boston, Nashville, Charleston, Savannah, Oxford, New Orleans, and even to visit my sister in California! Some of these trips have even incorporated another one of my (borderline) obsessions, which is watching the Boston Bruins hockey team. We managed to make it to 3 games in person this year (in Boston, Anaheim, and Los Angeles) and watched countless more on tv. This is something that I didn’t expect Lauren to enjoy as much as she does, but once she realized that I loved hockey, she dove in head first. Often times now, she is the one reminding me that there is a game on that night. Travelling has also allowed us to do another one of our favorite things… eating! We love to try out cool local places to eat wherever we go, and doing that in all kinds of different cities over the last year has been a lot of fun.

Lastly, we both love to be outside. One of the first things we ever did together was after finals week in December of 2015. I finished my last test and we spontaneously drove out to Tuskegee National Park with a couple lawn chairs and spent a few hours just talking by the water to unwind after a long week of school. We also love to spend time outside at the lake, be it in the water, or hiking around Lake Martin. My love for fishing has also become something we love doing together. She is such a trooper, even if that means just watching me fish. She always has such a good attitude!"

Jacob + Rachel {wedding}

How did you two meet?

Rachel: "We met through my best friend and bridesmaid, Stephanie. He was visiting her boyfriend at the time, and they were all going out to dinner while I had plans to go out with another group of people. We only met briefly before going our separate ways."

Do either of your remember what you thought the first time y'all saw/met each other?

Rachel: "Before leaving that night, I couldn't decide which shoe to wear. I specifically remember me going into the living room where Stephanie was (and Jacob) and asking whether I should wear a sandal or heel. I remember him making this horrible face and saying "go with the sandal. the heel is way too much". At this point I only knew his name, so I was surprised he had input on my outfit-- I decided to wear the heel. The following week I ended up sick with the stomach flu and almost every night Jacob would stop by and see how I was feeling and bring me soup or food. At this point we didn't have each other's number, so I had no clue when or if he was coming over. I looked and felt horrible. I thought if he could see me at my worst and still like me, I would give him a try... even if we didn't have the same sense of fashion. Since that week we have been inseparable."

How and when did Jacob propose?

"Jacob proposed after about two and a half years of dating. He kept telling me it wouldn't be any time soon. He would take me on nice trips to the mountains or the beach, and I would always think it was going to happen. He made plans for the beach, and this time I didn't expect anything to happen. Apparently he bought a ring on a whim, and asked my dad the week before our trip. The night we arrived we walked to the beach, and I thought something was odd because it was May. He wouldn't take his hands out of his pockets because he was 'cold.' I brushed it off, and we kept walking. At one point I decided it was time to turn around, so we did. As we were walking he stopped and told me to turn around, so I did. When I turned he said, 'look at the bird prints in the sand' (he chickened out.) I laughed and kept walking-- then he asked me to turn again. This time I expected another joke. When I turned he was down on one knee and already tearing up (which he hates to admit). He asked, I said, 'yes.' We cried a little and walked down the beach a little longer."

What was yall's favorite part of the day?

Rachel: "We both enjoyed the first look. The funniest part of the wedding/ceremony was actually as we were doing our vows. Jacob kept pulling my ring finger on my right hand (I had a ring from my mother on that finger) and whispering he needed to take it off and put my wedding ring there. I was pulling back whispering, 'left hand, not right hand. That's my right hand,' the whole time until I forcefully pushed my left hand making him realize he was about to put the ring on my right hand."

Seth + Melissa {engagement}

How did you two meet?

Melissa: "Seth and I met through mutual friends while watching the Auburn National Championship game at a friend’s home back in January of 2014. Me being an Alabama fan and Seth being an avid Alabama fan, we weren’t exactly interested in watching the game. I was more interested in talking to my best friends, but little did I know Seth was interested in finding out more about me. If you know anything about the two of us, you know that we are both huge Alabama fans. It is safe to say we were both secretly cheering against Auburn during this game. We never thought anything of 'the meet and greet' because we were both returning back to our separate colleges at the end of the break to finish our last semester of undergrad. Fast forward to May of 2014, when a close friend randomly asked him while playing basketball, 'What do you think about my friend Melissa?' His response, 'She’s cute,' triggered our friend to ask him if he would ever consider taking me on a date. With that being said, he immediately followed me on Instagram and this was a huge deal because Seth apparently never talked about other girls or ever said other girls were even cute. Seth and I spent the entire summer getting to know each other before I would let him take me out on our very first date. Seth was, and still is, the definition of patience as he continued to pursue me, met my entire extended family and more while waiting for me to agree to let him take me out on a date. I knew from the beginning he was a keeper!"

 How did Seth propose?

"On February 12, 2016 the man of my dreams dropped to one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. Seth and I had our first date outside of The Club as we spent hours getting to know each other. Since that day, The Club has always been one of our favorite places to go to and make memories. Both of our families were going to The Club for what I thought was a 'political campaign fundraiser' with both of our families. It was nothing out of the ordinary to go out on the balcony to take pictures with the beautiful scenery. Before taking the first picture, Seth caught me off guard by grabbing me by both arms saying, 'Before we take a picture…' I knew instantly that he was about to ask me to marry him. It was perfect because both of our families were standing right there to witness the proposal and capture it on camera. It turns out that Seth had been coordinating with my older brother, Drew, to find a way to get both families to The Club. About a week before the event, Drew sent a text message to our family text thread inviting us to what he said was going to be a 'political fundraiser' for one of our family friends. Both families responded with interest and played along. It worked out perfectly, along with a surprise engagement party at The Club after the proposal with our close friends and extended family members! It was a remarkable night we will never forget!"

Melissa-- what's one thing you admire most about Seth?

Melissa: "Seth is my biggest cheerleader/encourager in life! I admire his heart to love, serve and lead others. I am forever thankful for the amazing blessing the Lord granted him with which is patience. The gentleness and patience he shows through loving me each day is a pure reflection of Christ and the way He loves His church. Seth's sense of humor and positive attitude each and every day is so easy to love."

Seth-- what's one thing you admire most about Melissa?

Seth: "The one thing that drew me close to Melissa in the beginning stages of dating is her faith, and the way she lives her life. Her love for The Lord is undeniable. Melissa challenges me and pushes me to be better in every aspect of my life. She's one in a million-- there's no one like her."

Will + Brittany {St. Thomas wedding}

How did you two meet?

Brittany: "We met on a ski trip our sophomore year at Auburn. The first morning we left to go skiing with our group Will and I ended up on a ski lift with strangers who tumbled off at the top getting off the lift--with everyone else already off ahead of us we stopped to help them get back on their feet.  We didn’t end up catching up with our friends by the time we got the newbies untangled, and with both of us without our phones we had no way to track down anyone we knew so we ended up skiing together the rest of the day. The long ski lift lines provided plenty of time for us to get to know each other.  A week after we returned from our trip, we had our first official date and we ended up sitting on a bench in the lobby of my building talking until the sun came up-- the rest is history!"

Do either of you remember what each thought about one another?

Brittany: "I saw Will as a true gentlemen, he was chivalrous in every act! He was also clever and charming. Seven years later, I have come to know this all to remain true, and I still admire those same traits that landed him a second date!"

Will: "The first time I met Brittany I was blown way by her beauty and loving personality. She was funny and very intelligent making me not wanting to leave her side. The first week after we meet, I skipped almost every class just to spend time with her-- it was like we had been friends forever."

How did Will propose?

Will: "Brittany and I had talked about taking a much needed get-away since she was flying around 18 days a month and I was working about 18 hours a day in the middle of our busy seasons. We were living in separate cities and very focused, but knew we needed some time to relax! We had talked about a lot of places, but St. Thomas seemed perfect for us. I knew Brittany was flying in from Canada and would want a relaxing care free trip after weeks on the road and since we both love being out on the water I wanted to plan a boat trip to explore around the BVIs. After connecting with a local captain, securing a boat, and planning a route, with one island stop planned for the engagement -- I told Brittany I had booked us a snorkeling trip for the first day we were there. Luckily she went along with the plan and was excited to see the islands.  We snorkeled, bar hopped, and cruised around until we parked at a remote island, Sandy Spit, off the coast of Jost Van Dyke. We swam to the island and explored while I waited patiently for her get in position for the photographers view. Out on lava rocks in the middle of the ocean I got down on one knee (Brittany thought I had fallen,) and attempted to share with her what I had written on wax paper (to keep from ruining if it got wet), but I had then nervously dropped in the ocean and watched it float away before I asked her to spend the rest of her life with me. From there we celebrated and relaxed in paradise before deciding to bring our closest family and friends back a year later to celebrate our marriage with us!"

Brittany-- what do you admire most about Will:

Brittany: "Will is strong in his convictions, disciplined in his works and deeds, and faithful in all circumstances. He provides stability, acts humbly, and loves fiercely. Wills character is undeniably one of his greatest attributes. He choses to pursue to live a life that reflects a living sermon—He sets a strong example by providing servant leadership and maintains a teachable spirit. He is the best teammate, encourager, and adventurer I could have ever hoped for!"

Will-- what do you admire most about Brittany?

Will: "I have been blessed with a remarkable wife, one that exemplifies God's grace on a daily basis. Brittany's ministry and desire to help those in need both here and abroad is inspiring. I cannot wait to see the impact she will make on others through our marriage. She is a strong provider of others needs and an encourager when I’ve had a long day. She is always going out of her way to make me happy! I believe I am the luckiest man in the world to get to spend the rest of my life with such a special woman."

Favorite part of the wedding day?

Will: "Brittany did an incredible job planning the wedding, down the to the last detail. It was special to have so many of our best friends and family travel to St. Thomas for such a special weekend. My favorite part of our wedding was the ceremony— it was quaint on a remote beach, waves crashing, miles away from the distractions of daily life. I will always cherish our vows and the commitment I made to her standing under those trees."

Brittany: "I don’t have a single moment – the entire weekend provided us an unexplainable amount of joy! Having our family and friends coming together in a place so special to Will and I was the biggest gift in the world. We felt truly humbled at the sacrifices they made to be there to support us!"

Rob+ Grace {wedding}

How did you two meet?

Grace: "We met way back in 2002 in 7th grade math class. We got in trouble by the substitute teacher for talking & laughing during class and had to go to detention and write the substitute teacher an apology letter. Besides causing trouble, that year Rob gave me his top locker when I got stuck with an undesirable bottom one. A few years past and it was the summer before high school and the height of AIM. While in Birmingham for summer vacation, I would stay up way too late having deep AIM conversations with him about things like our favorite colors & what they would do if they won the lottery some day. A few weeks later and it was our first day of freshman year in high school and we got scheduled in the same math class... again. And get in trouble for talking with each other... again. On September 1st, 2004, as three hurricanes barreled toward the state of Florida, Rob asked me 'to go out with him' while sitting on the bleachers during a football game. And we've been 'going out' ever since."

Do either of you remember the first time you saw/met each other?

Grace: "The first time I saw him in math class I thought his best friend Hoover was cute; which is quite hilarious because looking back at photos we were all just babies at the time and oh so awkward. When we started talking to each other again the summer before high school, we had grown up quite a bit, and I thought he was very cute and sweet. He had a crush on my best friend at the time, so it wasn't 'love at first sight,' but it was a process of becoming friends and then falling for each other."

Rob: "Well, I don't remember much about the first time I saw Grace. Our early stages of friendship consisted of a lot of AOL instant messenger."

How and when did Rob propose?

Grace: "Three years ago on our first trip to Cape Cod, Massachusetts we visited Cuttyhunk Island with The Hoover family during a fishing trip. Megan Hoover took a photo of us sitting on a bench overlooking the gorgeous scenery at the top of Tower Hill. It became one of our favorite pictures and places ever. So, when Rob decided he wanted to propose, he knew just the spot. And on August 5th, 2015 we were going on another 'fishing trip' with The Hoover family and decided to stop by Cuttyhunk and climb Tower Hill again. We took a picture on the same bench overlooking Martha's Vineyard and the Elizabeth Islands and as we went to get up, Rob got down on one knee and asked me marry him. I can't say it was entirely surprising after we were being together for 12 years, but I guess I couldn't believe it was actually happening because I said, 'Really?' and then quickly said 'Yes!'"

Rob-- what's one thing you admire most about Grace?

Rob: " I admire her ability to care for others. She is the most loving person I know and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with her."

Grace-- what's one thing you admire most about Rob?

"The number one thing I admire is that no matter the situation Rob can always make me smile. Sometimes annoyingly so. I could be so mad at him and one silly look and that's it I'm laughing. I'm not sure that it's entirely fair since I don't share that same ability. However, I feel so incredibly fortunate that I get to share all my adventures in life with a man who is truly my best friend."

What was each of yall's favorite part of the day?

Rob: "My favorite part was probably the ceremony. It was everything I imagined it to be. Grace did a phenomenal job creating such a beautiful place for us to begin our marriage. It was just another representation of how amazing she is."

Grace: "It's so hard to pick a definite favorite part of the day. The ceremony really stands out in my mind. I wanted our day to feel warm and personal and walking into the ceremony that is exactly what I felt. I was so calm and at ease that I was finally about to marry my best friend, and I was surrounded by everyone I love in such a beautiful surrounding it was perfect and so much more than I could have ever dreamed of. Dancing the night away with our friends and family is also very high up there on the list, too! I feel like the day was filled with so many special little moments that amount to what the day was and I'll cherish them forever."

What's next for you two?

Grace: "We just got home from our amazing two week honeymoon exploring London and Ireland. We had a great time, but we're happy to be home. There is a lot of organizing and thank you notes in our near future, but beyond that we're happy to get back in the swing of life. We are looking forward to spending time with our family and friends we missed while we were away for two weeks. We're looking forward to a lot more travelling together and starting a family sometime in the future!"

How did you two meet?

Graham: "To answer this question, we would most likely have to ask our preschool teacher from Frazer United Methodist Church. Thinking through this question calls for a bit of speculation on how we exactly met: could've been sharing a juice in class or something like that. We only have one photo of our time in that preschool class together as evidence that we met that long ago, but what we do know is that we became best friends not long after that class. We became very close in second grade when I transferred into St James School. Our older siblings Kendall (Carlyn's sister) and Wade (my older brother) were in the same grade at STJ as well which caused our parents to meet and become good friends. This further guided Carlyn and I to become close."

Carlyn: "Despite my best effort, I cannot recall exactly how G and I met, but, it is clear that we became best friends in second grade. Our families were close so we had the chance to develop a close friendship outside of school hours. Honestly, I can’t remember a time without being best friends with Graham."

How and when did G propose?

Carlyn: "G proposed September 9, 2016. Roughly a week before, he told me that we were invited to attend a couple’s shower for his cousin who is getting married in December. A few days later, he provided me with the invitation to the shower he received in the mail. (Later, I found out that his mom sent the invite to his house in Birmingham from Montgomery to make it seem more legitimate). I agreed to go, and he instructed me that he would pick me up after class in Birmingham that day (Friday, the 9th).

We drove down to Montgomery around lunchtime. Upon arrival, G told me that he needed to go to the dentist for a check up. In reality, he was headed to meet with the photographer and our moms at the engagement spot. I simply stayed at home until it was time to get ready for the engagement shower beginning at 6:30 pm. When G arrived at my house at about 5:45pm, he received a phone call from his mom, who was allegedly one of the hostesses for the shower. She explained that the flower arrangement for one of the tables was not completed in time, so she needed us to pick it up on the way there. We agreed to drive to the florist’s workshop at her home in Pike Road, AL around 6:15 pm to grab the flowers. On the way to the florist’s home, G began playing one of our very favorite worship songs to which we belted (per usual) for most of the short ride there. Upon arrival, I was immediately distracted by a number of horses grazing in the pasture to our right. I was slightly confused when Graham stopped the car in the middle of the pecan orchard we were passing through. Soon after, I turned to the left to notice that there was a wooden cross (which his dad built for us) with a couple of chairs and a small table at it’s base. I soon realized what was happening. Graham waited for me to get out of the car and walked me to the area.

Once I was able to breathe, G began our time together with a short prayer because, as he explained, we needed to first acknowledge and thank the Lord who brought us to this point. After praying together, G removed a small black journal from the table and began reading a long note. This journal is one that we pass back and forth to keep track of our letters. As G finished the letter, he asked me to stand and he proposed!! Soon after he asked me to sit back down and he removed my shoes. He knelt at my feet and removed a small brown bible from the table. He proceeded to read a few verses in John, which is where Jesus teaches us to wash one another’s feet just as He washed the disciples’ feet. He explained that he wanted our marriage journey to begin with an act of service and love. Since we were in the youth group together, washing one another’s feet has always been a special act. He prayed over our relationship while washing and then returned to his seat alongside me. He then showed me the front of the Bible that read 'Carlyn Watson Norwood' in small gold lettering.

Afterwards, G drove me over to Wynlakes country club where he claimed a small group of family and close friends have gathered. I was blown away by the large number of family and friends who traveled from out of town to celebrate this special time with us! It was such a special time being able to celebrate with family and friends who have loved on us and poured into our relationship for several years."

What are some things yall like to do together?

Graham: "The short answer: it doesn’t really matter.

Carlyn and I have a unique relationship that is founded on a very strong friendship that developed over many years. In light of this, we’ve had the opportunity to enjoy many different things together. It’s honestly not as important what we are doing, but rather the fact we are doing it together that makes it so enjoyable.

Our parents recall that, even as young kids, Carlyn and I would do seemingly boring tasks together just for the sake of being around one another. I can recall getting a brand new desk when I was young and being tasked with piecing the desk together by myself. Carlyn came over, brought her book, and sat alongside me while we both paid attention to our own business. It wasn’t the fact she was there to help or anything like that, but rather just to be there with me made it better for the both of us. It’s funny how the Lord established that kind of bond because today our interactions are often limited due to my studies, so, in the same way she did many years ago, Carlyn will often come over and simply sit near me while I work. I feel the same way I did when I was putting that desk together: its just always better having her there. Her mother explains it perfectly: we are better together as a couple than apart as individuals."

Carlyn, what’s one thing you admire most about G?

Carlyn: "This is a really tough question because there are so many things I admire about G. He loves and serves me in a way that I could never dreamed a guy would. From the sweet notes he leaves me, the random phone calls just to pray for me, and so much more-- G never ceases to show me love. More importantly, I admire Graham’s faith in the Lord. Graham reminds me of our Father’s promises and goodness daily. He loves the Lord so passionately and he challenges me in my walk with Christ. It’s really awesome to look and see how the Lord truly has crafted our relationship. When I am fearful and doubting, Graham is calm and faithful. He is my best friend, my constant encourager, and he brings so much laughter and joy into my life. It’s such an honor to be his fiancé!"

Graham, What is one thing you admire most about Carlyn?

Graham: "Carlyn exemplifies Christ’s command to love God and love people. Above all, Carlyn loves like we all should. Anyone that knows her can see the evidence of her Faith in Jesus and how that flows into how she loves others. It’s easy for some people to love from a distance, yet Carlyn is the kind of girl who will care for friends and family so much that she even feels the burden of pain or hurt that they do. Although that can sometimes be heavy, the reality is that she is simply giving of herself exactly what the Father asks of us --- to love and love deeply. I am constantly reminded of her dedication to caring for her friends, family, and even those she has never met. Those who know her best can attest that she is a dependable and loyal person who is a blessing to those who have the chance to know her. I get the unbelievable opportunity to marry a girl who, above all else, loves the Lord, loves others, and loves me."

Billy + Samantha {wedding}

How did you two meet?

Samantha: "Surprisingly, Billy and I met in the most old school way possible-- on a park bench in Savannah, Georgia. I was in town for a bachelorette party, and Billy was in town for a golf tournament. We had just left a bar, watching the Auburn game (of course), when I sat down on one of the benches in City Market while the girls figured out the game plan for the evening. I looked over and made eye contact with this really cute guy who was walking by with a couple of friends. He immediately stopped and walked straight up to our group and introduced himself to everyone. One of the guys he was with was from Savannah, so they talked their way into letting them show us around for the rest of the night. Billy tried to buy me a drink a couple of times that night but I never let him-- I was there with my girls and had no interest in spending any time with this guy. Somehow, at the end of the night, Billy got my phone number and texted me first thing the next morning. It took about three months before I would agree to go out on a date with him. When I finally did, it was the best decision I ever made!"

Do either of your remember what you thought the first time y'all saw/met each other?

Samantha: "Yes! I saw him and thought, 'Oh, he’s cute! Whoops, we just made eye contact! Oh no! He’s walking this way! Ahhhh!' It’s kind of crazy that I can remember the exact moment I saw Billy, it was such a quick moment, but I remember it like it was yesterday. I hope that image of him at the corner of the street, standing under the streetlight, will be with me forever."

Billy: "I saw this beautiful woman, with long blonde hair and the prettiest smile I’d ever seen, sitting on a bench surrounded by many other women. All I cared about was getting in front of her and introducing myself. It worked."

 How and when did Billy propose?

Samantha: "Billy planned the most amazing proposal in the world! After about two years of dating, Billy planned a trip for us to go to the beach for a quick weekend getaway; we love to travel so this wasn’t out of the ordinary. He asked if we could stop and eat at Belford’s, an amazing restaurant in the square where Billy and I met, before heading to the beach. This wasn’t a surprising request because it’s Billy’s favorite restaurant and so we go there anytime we are close by. When we got to the square, Billy grabbed both of my hands and told me we weren’t actually going to the beach (which I was a little upset by) and said we were actually staying in Savannah all weekend! He then got down on one knee, pulled out the most beautiful ring I have ever seen, and asked me to be his wife. I was so shocked by everything I wasn’t sure if he was being serious or not, but when the tears started running down his face, I knew he definitely wasn’t joking. Then Billy told me that he had another surprise and out walked two of our best friends who had taken pictures of the whole thing! He also had my childhood friend and my best friend from Auburn, who had just gotten back from Spain, all there to celebrate our engagement for the entire weekend. He wrapped up the weekend of surprises with dinner for when we got home with all of our family. The whole weekend was full of surprises and it was more than I could have ever imagined. It was perfect!"

Samantha- what's one of the things you admire most about Billy?

Samantha: "There are honestly so many things that I admire and love about Billy. I think I admire his sense of determination the most. When Billy puts his mind to something, he will do what it takes to succeed-- no matter the challenges he may face. He gives his all to everything he does whether it be his faith, our marriage or work."

Billy- what's one of the things you admire most about Samantha?

Billy: "I love her heart for others. She is extremely self-less and always puts others ahead of herself. Sometimes I wish she would be selfish every now and again! Seeing her genuine love for her job, the people she meets and the friends she has is a very admirable trait. It makes me proud to call her my wife."

What was each yall's favorite part of the big day?

Samantha: "Our day was so perfect, it’s hard to pick just one! Billy and I did our first look at the church where my parents were married. While we were there Billy gave me a wedding present, a diamond necklace he designed and had made with my Great-Grandmother’s and Grandmother’s engagement ring stones. Having him put that necklace around my neck was so…magical. That’s a moment I will cherish forever."

Billy: "The ceremony. It’s not every day you get to marry a woman as beautiful as Samantha in front of so many close friends and family. The ceremony was amazing; God was the center of our ceremony, which is something we decided very early on with Brandon, and having God at the center made it so special for us and our guests."

What's next for you two?

Billy: "Well, personally I am in the middle of getting my Masters of Science in Accounting so I can become a CPA. Jointly, we are just going to enjoy each other and being newlyweds!  My brother is getting married in July 2017 in Cabo San Lucas where we will welcome in a new sister to our family!"

Samantha: "We LOVE to travel, so we will definitely get to enjoy traveling as husband and wife. Billy is in the middle of working towards his CPA so I foresee lots of study nights in our near future. We’re just excited about starting our lives together and all the little journeys that come along with that."

Clark + Mackenzie {wedding}

How did you two meet?

Mackenzie: “As crazy as it sounds, we met 13 years ago at Berry Middle School. We ‘dated’ a.k.a., met at the lockers in between classes then, and officially became boyfriend and girlfriend for the first time at Spain Park a couple of years later. :)”

How and when did Clark propose?

Mackenzie: “Clark proposed on August 15, 2015. He works for Regions Bank on the ITRM Team and had been working there for a little over a month around the time he proposed. Clark isn’t much of a planner, but had asked me earlier that week on Tuesday if I wanted to go to the Barron’s game at Region’s field and meet his team then he would take me to dinner for my birthday (which was the next day on the 16th). Considering I act like my birthday is a national holiday, I had been pretty pre-occupied with that all week and didn’t really think much of it when he asked me about meeting his team so I said ok. Later on in the week, (knowing that I would still say yes), he asked me if I was sure that I wanted to go do that and if I didn’t want to just go to dinner to celebrate my birthday and meet his team another time. Saturday rolled around, and we talked like normal all day. He came and picked me up and we went down to what I thought was going to the Barron’s game. Once we got there, we parked and walked up towards Railroad Park (where Clark said we were meeting his team). We walked down a little bit and ended up at a bridge where there were flower petals and roses, and that’s when Clark got down one knee and proposed! The entire time we were walking up, he was on his phone saying he was texting his co-workers to find out where they at Railroad Park for us to meet them. After he proposed, come to find out, he was actually texting my best friends who were hiding in the bushes behind us taking pictures and letting them know we were walking up and who ended up coming out to surprise me after he proposed!

Clark-- what’s one thing you admire most about Mackenzie?

Clark- “I admire Kenzie’s big loving heart and the natural leadership she shows in her life.”

What do you two enjoy doing together?

Mackenzie: “Clark and I enjoy going on date nights together, spending time with our family and friends, going to Lake Martin and Orange Beach together, going to Buffalo Wild Wings and working out together too.”

Mackenzie-- what’s one thing you admire most about Clark?

“Mackenzie- “I admire Clark’s drive and determination that he’s always had. I also admire how much Clark loves me for me- through all of my crazy quirks and me constantly laughing at myself thinking everything I say is funny.”

What was each of yall’s favorite parts of the day?

Mackenzie: “My favorite parts of the day were getting ready/spending the morning with my precious bridesmaids. Also, spending the night at the reception celebrating with my new husband, and all of the people who mean so much to us.”

Clark: “My favorite part of the day was seeing how happy Kenzie was all day and how much fun we had with our family and closest friends.”

Dean + Jill {wedding}

How did you two meet?

Jill: “Dean and I ran in the same circle of friends for a few years before we actually met. I think it had a lot to do with God’s perfect timing and allowing us both the space we needed to mature in our relationship with Him. We eventually ended up meeting through mutual friends in the summer of 2013. He was living with the older brother of my former roommate. We were friends for a while before we decided we wanted to date exclusively. At the time, Dean and I both had jobs that required long hours and a lot of traveling, so being friends first laid a strong foundation for our relationship that I will always be grateful for.”

Do either of you remember what you thought the first time y’all saw/met each other?

Jill: “I remember immediately being drawn to something about Dean. He had this sense of confidence mixed with humility that I still find very attractive. He was (and still is) always the person that people were genuinely happy to be around, and that was a trait I was looking for.”

Dean: I remember getting butterflies in my stomach.  I’m kind of a shy guy, and I was really nervous around her at first. Her blue eyes pretty much melted me. She has the sweetest voice I’ve ever heard, and I was instantly hooked.”

How and when did Dean propose?

Jill: “Dean and I had been together for roughly a year before we decided to take some time apart.  When we got back together in January of 2015, I knew in my heart that he was the person God had intended for me. The topic of marriage was something we talked about and tossed around for a few months, but with Dean living in Georgia, I knew get engaged wasn’t going to happen any time soon. Fast-forward to July of 2015-- my aunt and cousins were visiting with us from France. Mom and I had this whole weekend of fun activities planned with things like a Biscuits game, fireworks, swimming and the zoo! We had such a great time visiting with family that when it came time to go to the zoo on Sunday, I wasn’t expecting a thing, especially since Dean and I really enjoy going to zoos and aquariums whenever we are visiting new places. I remember walking up to the bear exhibit and seeing a huge “Will You Marry Me?” banner. I think I even commented saying something like, “Oh, look! Someone must have gotten engaged last night!” I never even noticed that my family had stopped a few feet back. After the proposal, we were ecstatically greeted by both of our families. He had arranged for his family to be there waiting for us behind some bushes taking pictures and videos the entire time! Knowing that he planned the whole thing and tailored it to fit us so well, truly meant the world to me.”

What are some of the things y’all like to do together?

Jill: “Anything and everything! Dean and I have spent the majority of our relationship in different cities so we are really just enjoying being able to do things together. We enjoy working out, cooking dinner, trips to the beach, and spending time with our family and friends. Dean has always been a huge sports fan, so I see a lot of baseball and college football weekends in my future!”

Jill – what’s one of the things you admire most about Dean?

Jill: “This is probably the hardest one to answer. There are so many things that I admire and love about my husband. We are true opposites in a lot of ways, but I think it is a perfect balance. The things I most admire would have to be his kind, sensitive soul, and his ability to show an extraordinary amount of patience. He is able to remain calm and steady through life’s storms and is the most loyal friend you will ever meet. I am truly blessed to spend my life with a man who shows the love of Jesus in everything he does.”

Dean – what’s one of the things you admire most about Jill?

Dean: “The thing I admire most about Jill is her strong will. When she sets her mind to do something, it doesn’t matter how hard it may be or what obstacles are put in her way. She gives her all at everything she does whether it be her faith, family or work. I admire so many things about her, and I know I’m a lucky man to have someone like her in my life.”

What was each of yall’s favorite part of the big day?

Jill: "The day was filled with so many amazing moments that it’s hard to pick just one! Since Dean and I decided to wait to see each other until the ceremony, my favorite part of the day would have to be finally laying eyes on him. I was so nervous to be in front of everyone, but when Dean took my hand, and we began to say our vows, it felt like we were the only ones out there. I have never felt more proud or excited as I was when we walked back up the aisle as husband and wife."

Dean: "Taking pictures with our awesome photographer... Seriously though, the best part for me was seeing her walk down the aisle. I got pretty emotional but it was the happiest day of my life. It was great to have so many of our family members and friends there to celebrate with us."

Mark + Brook {wedding}

How did you two meet?

Brook: "Mark’s sister, Kathryn, interned at the school that I was working at in Auburn. I didn’t see the interns too often-- only if they dropped their class off in PE. One day after school, I introduced myself to Kathryn the third grade intern. We hit it off and talked for a while. Then out of nowhere, she said, 'You should date my brother.' I didn’t know how to respond because I didn’t know her and definitely didn’t know her brother. We then became fast friends. Fast forward, she ended up getting a job in Auburn City Schools, and we lived together. She never would quite let it go that she just knew I needed to date her brother. This was August 2014. It then became a running joke amongst her family. Every time I was around them, they would joke about me marrying Mark. Over the course of us living together, Kathryn got engaged, then married. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding, so she knew this would be the defining moment in her scheme to get us together. Mark and I hung out a little at the wedding, but no sparks. I thought he was too skinny! Fast forward a month or so, I had totally given up on the Mark idea. However, Kathryn refused to give up. Kathryn, and I were hanging out one night and she took my phone and texted Mark off of it. I was furious. Mark knew it wasn’t me, and we texted back and forth until he finally asked if I would want to come to Birmingham to a Barons game. I had no good reason to say no. We went on our first date to a Barons game April 10, 2015, and I’ve seen him every weekend since! I guess sisters do know best sometime."

How and when did Mark propose?

Brook: "Mark proposed on December 5, 2015 (the day after my birthday).  Mark and I knew from very early on in our relationship that we had found who the Lord intended us to be with for the rest of our lives. God’s hand in our relationship was so evident. We had talked about marriage often, and I thought he needed to go ahead and propose and had no problem letting him know what that. I didn’t think he had a plan, but he did all along. Mark came to Auburn on Friday, Dec. 4 (my birthday). One thing to know about me is that I love my birthday! I like to think I am hard to surprise, but Mark had me fooled. I thought he was coming into town as a sweet gesture for my birthday, but little did I know that while I was at work that day, he was at my lake house with my mom and friend setting up all day. We went to eat for dinner that night and after dinner he gave me my birthday present-- an Apple Watch. I was so excited, but also secretly bummed because to me that meant no ring because who can drop money on a ring when they’ve just bought and Apple Watch? He knows my brain, that was part of the plan. Saturday, I was in a funk because my birthday was over and no one from my family had really told me happy birthday and they know how much I love my birthday. I was being a brat a little and pouting and complaining-- which I would later feel super guilty about. The plan for the day was to eat lunch with his two sisters and brother-in-law, watch half of the SEC championship game, then go to Montgomery to celebrate my birthday with my family. We ate lunch, then as we were heading back to my house, my mom called. She proceeded to tell me that the birthday plans had changed, and her and my dad were going to the lake and that Mark and I could come if we wanted to. I wasn’t too happy about that but I love the lake so I was in. We headed to the lake, parked and got out. Mark then walked me around to the front of the house where I saw that the pier was lit up and then it hit me. He said some really sweet and wonderful things that ended with him on a knee. When I turned around, the house lit up and our families came out to meet us. Mark had flown in my middle brother who lives in south Florida, who we hadn’t seen in six months. Needless to say, it was the most wonderful day! It was filled with family, friends, laughs and tears. It was a beautiful testament of God’s faithfulness."

Brook- what's one of the things you admire most about Mark?

Brook: "My relationship with Mark is the most unexpected blessing in my life. Our relationship is a testament to the Lord’s faithfulness. His hand has so evidently crafted our story. I knew after one of our first dates that he was the man I would marry. He looked at me like no one had ever looked at me before. He has the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known. He loves me and loves others so well. He loves the Lord passionately. He challenges me and encourages me in my walk with the Lord.  He seamlessly fit into my family. He is my speed bump and my rock.  He has a calming spirit about him that is so comforting. He makes me laugh harder than anyone and brings so much joy into my life.  I couldn’t imagine a better person to do this life with! He is my best friend, and I’m so thankful that I get the privilege of serving him as his wife."

Mark- what's one of the things you admire most about Brook?

Mark: "There are many reasons that I love Brook and ways that she makes me better. Brook is always patient and kind, and she goes out of her way to help those in need. She is selfless and always looking to serve. She is encouraging and looks for the best in others. One of the first things I noticed about her was that I never heard her talk negatively about others. She loves Jesus, and always reminds me to keep an eternal perspective instead of dwelling in the day to day."

What are some things y'all like to do together?

Brook: "Mark and I are loving doing the day to day things together for the first time. Our entire dating relationship was long distance, so getting to see him on a Wednesday is awesome! It may be newlywed bliss, but we are loving the simple things like going grocery store, taking the dogs on walks and the occasional game of Spikeball. We love spending time with our families whether it be at the lake or one of their houses. We are loving weekends at our new home and getting to do different projects around the house."

What was each yall's favorite part of the big day?

Brook: "The day was pretty much flawless. It was mostly stress free and that is exactly what we prayed for. My prayer and hope for the ceremony was that the Lord would be glorified. I wanted everyone that was there and a part of it to get the overwhelming sense of the Lord’s presence. When we walked out of the church there was a full rainbow, which was the Lord reminding us of His faithfulness. I loved the reception, being around people is my heart and it was such a blessing to have all those that we love most there with us to celebrate. The day was wonderful and I couldn’t have dreamed it up better. God is good!"

Mark: "Brook probably wouldn’t want me to say, but one of my favorite parts of the day was playing basketball with my groomsmen before the craziness of the day started. I knew that all those guys would probably never be together again, so it was pretty great. Before the ceremony, Brian Word advised me to take in every moment of it, and I really tried to do that. I remember standing up there when Brook’s grandad did the prayer of blessing and pronounced us, and thinking how I would remember this for the rest of my life. Not many people get to have a family member play a role in the ceremony so it was pretty special that he was part of it."

What's next for you two?

Brook: "We have moved from Auburn to Birmingham. Mark bought a house about a year ago, so we are loving making it our home. I got a new job teaching at Shades Mountain Christian School and am really enjoying it. We are proud new owners of a sweet basset hound/beagle puppy named Dennis. We are loving the married life, getting to see each other every day!

Robert + Morgan {engagement}

How long have you two been together?

Morgan: “We have been together for a year and a half. We met in March 2015, shortly after I moved to Birmingham.”

How and when did Robert propose?

Morgan: “Our families took a joint trip to the beach over Memorial Day weekend. I had no idea it was coming (neither did our families), so everyone was pleasantly surprised, and we had a great celebration together that night!”

Robert- what's one of the things you admire most about Morgan?

Robert: “One of the many things I admire about Morgan is her sweet, friendly and outgoing personality. I'm pretty introverted by nature, and I'm always amazed how easily she makes friends-- and how everyone seems to love her. She helps me to get out and meet people and to be social-- and maybe I help to keep her calm and grounded. We're great complements to each other.”

Morgan- what's one of the things you admire most about Robert?

Morgan: “How can I pick just one? I admire so many things about Robs. He is kind, loving and gentle. His patience and calming spirit is the perfect balance to my stress and impatience. As the saying goes, he is "the calm to my storm.” He's also very encouraging and uplifting, and I'm so lucky to become his wife in just a few short months.”

What are some things y'all like to do together?

Morgan: “We like to exercise together including running and even Crossfit! We both really push each other to be our best. We enjoy good food and wine, visiting with our families, going to Alabama football games, and we like to travel!”

Collins + Kristi {wedding}

How did you two meet?

Kristi: "Collins and I met in high school. He played basketball, and I was a cheerleader. Cheerleaders gave treats to basketball players on game days, and I was assigned to Collins. We didn't start dating until we reconnected at Auburn."

How did Collins propose?

Kristi: "Collins proposed on July 2, 2015. We went to one of favorite restaurants, Stix. We love Japanese food. We had to wait about an hour and a half to eat dinner. Collins had the ring in his pocket the entire time. We decided to stop by my house after dinner so we could play with my precious dog, Jeter. When Jeter ran to the door, I heard something jingling. I noticed a little tag on Jeter's collar that read, 'Will you marry me?' Of course I said, 'Yes!' We had family and friends over at my sister's house afterwards. The whole thing was such a surprise!"

What are some things you two enjoy doing together?

Kristi: "Collins and I love going to Auburn games and cheering on our Tigers. We also enjoy spending time with our families and friends as well as traveling."

Kristi-- what's one of the things you admire most about Collins?

Kristi: "I love many things things about Collins, but the thing I love most is his how he cares for others. He adores his family, friends, co-workers and pets. Collins is always thinking of others and putting people before himself. He is continually brainstorming ways to put a smile on my face and strives to make me happy. He is a catch!"

Collins-- what's one of the things you admire most about Kristi?

Collins: "One of the things I admire most about Kristi is her dedication in her profession as a teacher. Even during the summer when she is supposed to be relaxing, I'll see and hear her talking about next year's class, and getting organized for the year to come. I am very proud of her hard work, and I know her kids adore her."

What was each of yall's favorite part of the day?

Kristi: "The whole day was perfect. My favorite part was being on the alter with Collins during our ceremony. When we said our vows, it felt like we were the only people there. In such a busy and fun day, it was so relaxing to just have that moment between us."

Collins: "My favorite part of the day was walking down the aisle after we made it official. It was an incredible feeling that I will never forget."

What's next for you two?

Kristi: "We just moved into our house in Cahaba Heights, and we love the area. I am getting geared up for the next school year and can't wait to meet my new kindergarteners. Collins is working hard in sales. We are enjoying married life and are looking forward to new adventures together."

Billie + Morgan {wedding}

How did you two meet, and how long did you two date?

Morgan: "We have gone to school with each other since the second grade, so we don’t really remember exactly how we met! We always knew each other and even had many of the same friends in high school but it wasn’t until we both went to college at Auburn University that we reconnected and started dating! We dated three years before getting engaged."

Do either of your remember what you thought the first time y'all saw/met each other?

Morgan: "When we first started dating, I remember how intentional he was. He pursued me so genuinely and respectfully and could always make me laugh! I knew there was something special about him and that the Lord had brought him into my life for some wonderful reason. I’m so thankful that I get to marry him!"

Billy: "I thought she was the most beautiful girl in the world and was disappointed that I waited until college to really get to know her. I couldn’t stop thinking about her after we really talked for the first time, and did everything I could to pursue her. The next time I got to talk to her, it didn’t go quite as I hoped, but eventually I got to take her on a date and the rest is history."

How and when did Billy propose?

Morgan: "Billy was interning over the summer and in May. He told me that there was a big annual company dinner at the plant with the employees and their families in June that we were invited to! A month passed with many conversations about the dinner, and finally, the day of June 27 came. As we got in the car to leave for dinner, Billy told me that one of his co-workers had asked him to pick up some food for the event at a restaurant in downtown Auburn on our way, which I thought was a pretty odd last-minute request. When we parked on College Street, Billy asked me if I wanted to come in with him, and told me to leave everything in the car. Instead of going into a restaurant though, he walked me past the restaurant towards the wall that says, “War Eagle” in downtown Auburn that I love, got down on one knee, and asked me to spend forever with him! He had even coordinated with our families to have a celebration on Samford Lawn after he popped the question. Much better than a company dinner!"

Billy- what's one of the things you admire most about Morgan?

Billy: "Morgan’s kind nature and unconditional love for others is what I admire most about her. She has the most easy-going personality and always sees the good in others. She teaches me every day how to handle any situation with kindness and grace as I try to follow her example."

Morgan- what's one of the things you admire most about Billy?

Morgan: "What I admire most about Billy is his genuine personality and his relationships with others. He has a way of making everyone around him feel comfortable and special which is something that first drew me to him! He has a servant’s heart, and is truly a light to everyone around him whether he’s known them for just a minute or his whole life. He sets a wonderful example for how to love people well, and I’m so blessed to get to spend my life with him!"

What are some things y'all like to do together?

Morgan: "Our favorite thing to do together is cheer on the Auburn Tigers at baseball, football, and basketball games! We also enjoy just doing everyday activities together whether that’s going on walks around campus or cooking together!"

What's next for you two?

Morgan: "I have two more years of pharmacy school left at Auburn and Billy is working for the university, so we’re staying put in Auburn for a little while! We’re looking forward to taking on the loveliest village on the plains as a married couple and are eager to see what plans the Lord has for us and our future together!"

Ben + Mary Elaine {wedding}

 How did you two meet, and how long did you two date?

Mary Elaine: "We both think it's pretty crazy that we met. Ben went to grad school at the University of Alabama. His godparents knew someone from their church in Knoxville (Reed) that was also going to Alabama too and told Ben they should meet each other. Reed happened to be one of my best friends from Birmingham-Southern. Ben and I met at his birthday dinner and enjoyed getting to know each other before dating. We dated for almost 4 years, and during that time Ben lived in three different states."

Do either of your remember what you thought the first time y'all saw/met each other?

Ben: "I traveled up to Birmingham for our mutual friend’s birthday dinner in Crestline Village. I saw her walking up and was taken away by how absolutely beautiful she was. During the meal, she sat across from me and I had to consciously not look at her so often and try to include others into the conversation. I never once was nervous or second guessing myself around her, in hindsight I know that I actually knew then that I was supposed to spend my life with her."

Mary Elaine: "I thought Ben was handsome and really easy to talk to since we had some common connections. Ben was from South Carolina, and my sister had lived in Columbia for the past few years. I was just excited to get to know him better."

How and when did Ben propose?

Mary Elaine: "Ben proposed at Lake Martin in September of 2015. We had a long weekend and were excited to spend the weekend together at my family's lake house. Ben proposed the Friday night we got there. (He was just excited he didn't drop the ring in the lake!) The rest of the weekend was spent enjoying this special time and telling our family and friends the big news!"

Ben- what's one of the things you admire most about Mary Elaine?

Ben: "I admire so many things about Mary Elaine--her awesome accents and impressions are top notch. But seriously, her personality and beliefs were something that immediately attracted me to her and caused me to instantly fall in love with her. She comes from a Christian family that raised her to continually grow stronger in her faith and to love unconditionally, and I see it everyday. She is extremely kind, caring and continuously thinking about what she can do to help people and how to make them feel loved and cared for. From doing whatever she can for her friends and family to working so hard teaching to just ordinary interactions with strangers, I get to see her big heart, and know I am so lucky to be able to spend my life with her."

Mary Elaine-- what's one of the things you admire most about Ben?

Mary Elaine: "There are so many things I admire about Ben, so it's hard to try and pick one thing! Ben is such a gentleman. This is one trait that stuck out to me when we first met. He has a natural ability to make everyone he meets feel special, whether it's striking up a conversation with a stranger or making time for his friends and family. I also admire the fact that Ben is always interested in learning more and challenging himself to become a better person. He is driven and talented in so many ways. I know God has big things in store for Ben, and I am so blessed that I get to join him through this journey."

What are some things y'all like to do together?

Ben: "Pretty much everything. We are apart so often that we enjoy doing almost anything because we're so excited about doing it together. Most of all, we enjoy spending time with our family and friends, running, eating, and seeing new places and try to mix those all together as much as possible."

Mary Elaine: "We love traveling to visit our family and spending time with our friends. Running and working out is also something we enjoy doing together - We trained for our first half marathon in Baton Rouge and our first marathon in Savannah. We both love eating Mexican food, reading, and being outdoors. Ben and I are both big sports fans. We mostly love watching SEC football (We cheer for different teams which can be challenging at times), the Atlanta Braves and soccer."

What was each yall's favorite part of the big day?

Mary Elaine: "I loved being able to say our vows in front of friends and family, but some of the moments that really stick out were on the dance floor at the reception! Ben and I have enjoyed dancing together since we met, so our first dance as husband and wife was extra special. And who knew our friends and family could break it down with a shaker?! Our guests and the band and venue made the reception extra fun, and we didn't want the night to end."

Ben: "Dancing. It seemed like everyone had such a great time, and I am so glad that the air conditioning going out didn't slow everyone down too much."

What's next for you two?

Mary Elaine: "We are living in Atlanta for a few months and working on checking off our 'Atlanta bucket list.'  After that, we have no idea and we wouldn't want it any other way - its pretty exciting. Our next move is dictated by where Ben's next project is going to be and there is continuous talk of different new projects that could happen across the whole southeast. We aren't sure what the Lord has in store for us, but we're excited for the adventures ahead."
